Having started my journey in Uganda in the south trekking for mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, then to help build houses with the Fuller Center Uganda, some from the team headed still further north to explore the Murchison Falls area. Continue reading

Global Builders UGANDA | Bugiri
In February 2025 was honored to be a member of the first Global Builders team to build in Bugiri with the Fuller Center for Housing Uganda. Well-known for its biodiversity and abundance of wildlife, most notably the mountain gorillas, Uganda is indeed a beautiful country with friendly, peace-loving people. About 40% percent of its 50 million people live on less than $2 per day. Continue reading
UGANDA | The Emerald in Africa’s Crown
It’s so gorgeously green. Confirmed from the air, Uganda ought to be called the Emerald of Africa. Lush in its many hues of green, this beautiful, friendly, wonderous destination is a pleasure to explore. Particularly if you are lucky enough to be looking for gorillas. Continue reading

The Shenandoah Valley offers some of the best hiking and scenery of the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains in the mid-Atlantic. Be sure to check out … Continue reading
4 Days in the Land of Fire & Ice – Iceland
WOW. True it’s the name of the Icelandic airline, offering wonderfully inexpensive passage from North America to Europe. It’s also the first word that came to mind when driving toward Reykjavik. Iceland’s volcanic landscape appears lunar, other-worldly. It’s oddly beautiful. Because all flights are routed through Reykjavik, WOW allows you to book a free stop-over … Continue reading
